Preface
This is the second edition the book "A Brief History of Alcoholics
Anonymous in Richmond, Indiana." The four printings of the first
edition dealt primarily with the immediate Richmond area, but additional
information has surfaced since that time.
This printing will cover AA groups from a much wider area, including some
of the Ohio meetings from which many of the early-timers would traverse
on a regular basis.
According to AA customs only the first names and last initials of local
members will be used in this booklet, however, names of well known and
historical fellowship names will be used in full for the sake of clarity,
also, certain local full names are used when deemed appropriate by the
author. Other local full names will be made available for AA members on
a confidential basis.
The content herein does not reflect the approval of the fellowship of
Alcoholics Anonymous, AA General Service Office, or AA as a whole. This
booklet is simply the author's attempt to preserve the AA history of
Richmond, Indiana and nearby communities.
This larger format will illustrate a much larger array of documents and
photographs than the previous edition. I would like to acknowledge sincere
appreciation to Bob M., Tom and Thelma R., Jerry M. and Sam M.
for their essential contributions to this booklet. The information
herein was compiled and written by Bob S. and edited by Barb A. in 2008.
