Alcoholics Anonymous welcomes your interest in the disease of alcoholism and the program of recovery offered through the 12 steps.
A.A. PREAMBLE©
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are selfsupporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Copyright © The AA Grapevine, Inc.

Purpose
- Members of the Special Needs Committee explore, develop and offer resources to make the AA message and participation in our program available to everyone who reaches out for it. While there are no special AA members, many members have special needs. For the purpose of those guidelines, we define AAs with special needs as persons who are blind or visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing; chronically ill or homebound, and those who are developmentally disabled.
- To provide a clearinghouse of information and resources for individual AA members, groups and districts who are interested in making the message of AA accessible to those with special needs.
